Integration Innovation, Inc. (i3) Model-Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) in Huntsville, Alabama
Overview
i3 is seeking candidates to support systems engineering and modeling activities for Department of Defense customers. This position is located in Huntsville, AL with hybrid options available.
The successful candidate will use MBSE tools and techniques to support requirements development and decomposition, system design and design verification, interface development, and verification/validation activities. Tasks will include development and maintenance of in-house and external models in a collaborative environment to support DoD acquisition and test and evaluation activities. The candidate will also support missions engineering to develop integration plans, test plans and procedures, data analysis plans, and execution of models in simulation to conduct scenario-based analysis for the customer. Comprehension of Systems Modeling Language (SysML 1.x) and the Unified Architecture Framework (UAF 1.1 & 1.2) is a requisite for the successful candidate.
The successful candidate must work well in a team and collaborative environment and must demonstrate strong written, communication, and presentation skills, attention to detail, and an eye for innovative ideas.
Responsibilities
Participates in the development of system integration plans, procedures and scenarios used in the conduct of software and hardware system integration testing and performs analysis of integration results to assess system impacts.
Utilizes MBSE tools (e.g., Dassault Systèmes MagicDraw and Teamwork Cloud) to support requirements development, system design, and the development of use cases for selected systems.
Develops and maintains models using modeling languages such as Unified Modeling Language (UML), Systems Modeling Language (SysML), and Unified Architecture Framework (UAF).
Develops system models and creates representations using data architectures and data models to facilitate interoperability.
Utilizes strong written, communication, and presentation skills, and works effectively in a team environment.
Reviews system engineering documentation and model artifacts to ensure accuracy.
Participates in the development of trade studies to support the selection preferred design solutions and course of action alternatives in project development/product delivery.
Participates in project/program technical risk analysis and mitigation.
Analyzes and evaluates systems using MBSE artifacts.
Qualifications
Required:
ABET accredited BS in engineering. Additional experience may substitute.
Minimum of 3 years of systems engineering experience preferred.
Experience with various model based system engineering tools – Cameo, Magic Draw, Rhapsody.
Knowledge of system architecture development and the systems engineering process.
Understanding of system interface requirements and interface management.
At least 2 years of experience with the at least one of the following modeling languages: UML, SySML, UAF preferred.
Ability to obtain and maintain a secret level security clearance.
U.S. Citizenship is required.
Desired:
Formal systems engineering training.
Experience with scripting languages such as Python or Velocity.
Experience supporting DoD programs is preferred.
Experience working in an Agile environment.
OMG Certified System Modeling Professional – Model User or higher.
