Basic Function

  • DriveContinuousImprovementin the Site,Lean Manufacturing principles aligned withKOS, the(Kohler Operating System). Sets Direction forshort andlong termContinuous Improvement plan for the site. Leads activities to resolve problems and continuously improve Production Flow with a focus on True North. Train and Mentor CI Team and Site Leadershipto Institutionalize Lean Manufacturing capabilities in the way we work,demonstratedby Hands-on and Coached application ofrobust process improvement methods.

  • Ownsthe development, and achievement ofSite’sContinuous Improvement Roadmap’s,and takes champions theactivitiestoprogress maturity in the 7 elements of KOS, Operating Culture, Safety, Environment, Quality, Production Flow, Materials Management and Asset Reliability.

  • Manages the site CI dept and Continuous improvement engineers.

  • This position willinteract with like roles in other FMV sites for knowledge sharing and best practice identification and replication.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Align the efforts and develop the capabilities of plantelement ownersthrough coaching, teaching,and sharing of best practices. Ensure that activities are consistent with and built upontheKohlerOperatingSystem.

  • Provide input for and lead improvement of key strategicimprovementgoals for thesite.These measures include lead time, inventory turns, Internal and External Quality, SafetyIncident Rate, Unit Productivity, OEE, etc.

  • Mentorsandassistsplantelement ownerstocreate,maintainand improve business standards.

  • Modelsresults-oriented attitudeamongpeers and those supportedto achieve teamobjectives, including achievement of theSitesCI Savings targets andaccuratetracking of savings data well aligned with Finance.

  • Providea tactical approach andproject managementexpertisefor cross-functional teams.Drive teams towardtimelyexecutionand thorough completion of projects.

  • Leadsinternal workshops - teams will consist of administrative,professional and/or manufacturing team members, and teams will address tactical problems and opportunities with a project focus.

  • Manage the information systems used for project documentation and tracking of key metrics related to KOS implementation.

Skills/Requirements

  • Four-year degree. Major program of study in the areas of Business, Engineering, Management, Communications are preferred, but not required.

  • Minimum of 3 years of personal application experience with tools and methods well known in TPS, (Toyota Production System) methodology including Process Design, Visual Management, Standardized Work, Kaizen, Flow, Problem Solving and Teamwork. The Ideal Candidate will have demonstrated expertise in Six Sigma and or other advanced problem-solving techniques.

  • Minimal travel is expected, however, may have infrequent business travel for meetings and or business conferences.

  • Demonstrated experience in the following:- Strong leadership and change agent skills. Track record of results.- Able to communicate effectively and establish credibility with BU, Site, and Shop floor Leadership. - Ability to teach, mentor, and coach at plant level.- Proven ability to use systematic problem solving to solve technical challenges.- Good facilitation skills. Build teams in a collaborative work style; Previous successful experience in team buildingand motivating others.- Demonstrated project management with an ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.- Ability to keep an open mind when problem solving to find innovative solutions.

The salary range for this position is $122,750 - $156,850. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. Available benefits include medical, dental, vision & 401k.
