At the BASF Huntsville Plant, we make the chemistry and technology used in vehicle catalytic convertors and other environmental products. As part of our team, employees help us conceive, design, implement and validate new equipment, technologies and processes to help make our world's environment cleaner. Our Operators manage the

process of coating of catalysts substrates using the established parameters and processes. They are highly skilled and possess the knowledge that allows us to produce a quality product in a prompt and efficient manner.

As a Light Duty Coating Operatoryou will create chemistry by……….

• Assures coating slurry and raw substrates meet required specifications, starts equipment to transfer slurry to the coater

machine.

• Sets scale limits and pump operation pressure to assure proper slurry supply to coating machine.

• Enters production information into computer for lot packages, downtime sheets and SAP.

• Follows work instructions, and specification sheets, sets and controls coating machines to regulate speed of coating, flow

of chemical slurries, and temperature of drying ovens to maintain specified customer quality requirements.

• Utilizes work instructions to guide and troubleshoot coater systems and make appropriate adjustments to assure proper

coater operation.

• Cleans and maintains coating machines and associated feed tanks, plumbing and pumps.

• Properly completes administrative entries associated with coater operations such as Process Lot Tickets, standard

process control charts and other operations forms.

• Loads substrates onto a line or packs substrates into boxes.

• Utilizes a forklift to maneuver parts/materials in the area.

• Screens parts for quality issues.

Your Formula for success...

• High School Diploma/GED

• 2 or more years of manufacturing production work related experience

• 2 or more years operating machines

• Work environment/Physical demands

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or

airborne particles, and vibration.

• The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or

feel; reach with hands and arms; as well as talk and hear.

• The employee is regularly required to document test results via hand written and keyboard entries.

• The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and

frequently lift and/or move up to 25pounds. Any part that weights more than 25 pounds needs to be lifted by a manipulator

or the buddy system.

• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and

ability to adjust focus.

• May be required to work mandatory overtime and/or twelve hour shifts.

• The use of personal protection equipment is required such as hearing protection, safety glasses and protective gloves.

Pay starts at $22.28/hr.

$3,000 sign on bonus! (nights include $2.50 differential)
