The Building People Entry - Safety Occupational Health Engineer (TS Cleared) in Huntsville, Alabama

The Building People, LLC, has a position open for a full-time Entry Level Safety Occupational Health Engineer, with an active Top Secret Clearance for a facilities engineering program to support a federal Agency. The SOH/IH Technician Entry Level will support FBI safety and occupational health program, to include but not limited to construction, operations and maintenance, and workplace safety. The general responsibilities of the SOH Technician – Entry Level are as follows, to include but not limited to:

  • Utilize knowledge of a wide range of hazards, controls, safety assessment methods, chemicals, biological and physical agents, behavioral sciences, mathematics, and educational techniques, engineering concepts, and varied operations.

  • Apply safety and occupational health laws, regulations, and principles to advise management on technical matters regarding occupational safety and health issues.

  • Assist with safety and health training programs, communication, presentations, records management, project planning and data analysis. Draft safety and health communications, materials, and briefs for managers. Compile and prepare a variety of recurring reports as directed by supervisor.

  • Assist in planning/conducting occupational health and safety inspections/surveys of workplaces, processes, and facilities to ensure compliance with EHS regulations, standards, and policies. Identify areas for improvement and recommended corrective actions and assist with implementation.

  • Maintains inventory supply and prepares purchase requests.

  • Assist with surveys, equipment maintenance and data analysis for industrial hygiene programs and studies.

  • Review laboratory analyses and draft reports that include findings and recommendations for control of identified hazards.

  • Reviews and/or determine the nature of the problem and the number and type of environmental samples to be collected.

  • Assist in investigating mishaps or near miss events by evaluating, organizing, and leading the investigation process.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Active Top Secret Clearance.

  • Highly recommended but not required: Safety Management Specialist, Associate Safety Professional, Graduate Safety Practitioner.

  • BS in safety and occupational health, industrial hygiene or applicable field OR 8+ years applicable experience.

  • Must have experience and be well versed in EM-385 requirements.
