As the Deputy Department Manager, you’ll support the Rapid Integration and Development Department Manager in the department’s day to day activities by (1) influencing department personnel to exceed expectations in their roles, (2) implement successful processes to increase employee morale ensuring on time delivery and (3) innovate with department staff in anticipating the needs of our customers and providing solutions.

Overall, you will support in the Rapid Integration and Prototyping Department in pioneering innovation through agile methodologies and cutting-edge technologies. Primary Responsibilities

The Deputy Department Manager will:

• Support department personnel by identifying gaps in processes, reporting and staffing

• Provide leadership to department staff to ensure the highest level of professionalism is maintained

• Coordinate with all organizational elements requesting department support

• Provide solutions to identify deficiencies within the departments planning and execution

• Perform high level task / program management

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's of Science or equivalent degree with 15+ years of relevant experience

• Ability to build strategic relationships with internal / external customers while collaborating with company / industry leaders to gather cutting edge solutions

• Demonstrated experience in leading multi-contractor development teams

• Demonstrated experience in leading cross disciplinary teams

• Must have strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills

• Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area

• Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Current secret clearance is preferred

Pay Range:

Pay Range $131,300.00 - $237,350.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline onlyand not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
