Kelly Engineering has a GREAT opportunity for an Automation Technician located in Huntley, IL!

2nd Shift

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing production machinery and equipment, including Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance on machinery and equipment to ensure continuous and efficient operation.

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and PLC-related issues on production equipment.

• Troubleshoot and resolve PLC programming problems, ensuring efficient operation of automated machinery.

• Conduct preventative maintenance checks and services as per the scheduled maintenance plans.

• Collaborate with production teams to identify and address maintenance needs.

• Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs performed on equipment.

• Assist with installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment.

• Ensure all work is performed safely and in accordance with company safety protocols and regulations.

• Stay updated with the latest developments in maintenance technology and best practices.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in maintenance or related field preferred.

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in maintenance, with a focus on machinery and PLC repairs.

• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and PLC systems.

• Proven ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.

• Familiarity with safety protocols and practices in an industrial setting.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Working Conditions:

• Full-time position, typically working on-site in a manufacturing environment.

• May require occasional overtime or shift work depending on production needs.

• Physical requirements include standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
