Developmental Disabilities Institute School Nurse - RN (Leave Replacement) in Huntington, New York

Description

DDI's Children's Day Program is looking for a Leave Replacement School Nurse for our Huntington location. The duration of the leave replacement will be for at least 2 months, with the potential to turn into a permanent position for the right candidate. Our school programs operate on a 12-month calendar with paid school breaks built in. This position becomes benefits eligible after 90 days, should the leave replacement extend beyond that point.

Salary Range: $45,000 - $60,000 / year (35 hours/week)

Responsibilities:

  • Daily attendance to students enrolled

  • Treatment of all children for illness and injuries-treat, record and notify parents

  • Administer medications daily, record and maintain up to date records.

  • Maintain up to date student’s records on all students ie: physicals and immunizations

  • Administer mantoux’s yearly to all staff and new employees and maintain records

  • Administer HCP.B’s to all staff and maintain records

  • Staff inservices as needed (OSHA, Universal precautions, safety etc)

  • Administer care to staff in case of injury and complete incident reports as per DDI regulations and maintain monthly tracking

  • Handle all medical emergencies within building

  • Order all supplies

  • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse, Licensed in New York State

  • Three years experience with children with disabilities, preferred
