Job Description

Insight Global's client is seeking an Engineering Product Manager in Hawthorne, NY. This individual will oversee a team of highly skilled CAD project engineers and coordinate daily operations for a rapidly growing custom furniture manufacturer. The Engineer Product Manager will be responsible for hiring, training and development, and tracking team performance to ensure deadlines are met. This person will be hands-on with their team requiring prior industry experience in panel processing, CNC machines, and CAD programming. The Engineering Product Manager will report to the VP of Production and work onsite 5 days a week.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

* Interviews, hires, and trains new staff.

* Oversees the daily workflow of the department.

* Provides constructive and timely feedback to team.

Duties/Responsibilities:

* Leads and coordinates various engineering functions and operations including quality assurance, testing, production, and research and development of new and existing product lines.

* Facilitates communication among internal clients and engineers, ensuring specifications, budgets, and deadlines are clearly communicated and understood.

* Serves as project manager for multiple projects, creating timelines and cost projections, organizing collaborative meetings, and ensuring projects comply with specifications, timelines, and budgets.

* Reviews work and projects for technical accuracy.

* Implements, and maintains administrative policies, procedures, and standards.

* Prepares and executes departmental budget.

* Negotiates contracts with outside vendors.

* Maintains knowledge of new trends, developments, technologies, materials, and best practices; applies this knowledge to continually improve product lines and production efficiency.

* Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills and Requirements

* 10 years experience in furniture manufacturing, millwork, kitchen design, architecture, or industrial design

* Proficient with computer-aided drafting (CAD) software

* Experience with industrial woodworking machinery or CNC machines

* Demonstrated supervisory and leadership skills, passionate about developing their team

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, innovative and solution oriented

* Thorough understanding of engineering theory and design criteria * Bachelor's degree in industrial, mechanical, or civil engineering null
