Goddard School Lead Toddler Teacher in Huntersville, North Carolina

The Goddard School in Huntersville has an immediate opening for a Toddler Teacher.  This position involves working with children ages 12-24 months.  Teacher applicants should have BA/AA in Early Childhood Education or a related field and at least two years experience working in a preschool or licensed childcare setting, preferably with toddlers. Other degrees considered with at least 18 credit hours in Early Childhood education including North Carolina Credentials (EDU 119). A recent criminal background check, TB skin test and physical will be required prior to beginning the job.  SIDS and First Aid/CPR are also required but reimbursed by employer.   Teacher's daily duties include: * Developing lesson plans. * Communicating appropriately and professionally with parents and fellow staff. * Meeting the individual's needs of the children * Participation in staff and training meetings (monthly or as needed). * Designing an appropriate room arrangement to support the goals and developmental level of the children in the classroom. * Interacting with the children to support play, exploration, and learning. * Presenting expectations that are appropriate to the child’s age and developmental level. * Planning and implementing activities that develop self-esteem and social skills. * Building teamwork. * Using assessment tools. * Committing to continuing education.
