We are currently seeking to fill the following position for ourCharlottelocation.

ELECTRICAL PROJECT ENGINEER

RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform a variety of Electrical Engineering custom machine design tasks, such as:

  • Create cabinet/panel drawings, BOMs, schematics, one line diagrams, PI&D diagrams, cable drawings, and wire/cable pull lists.

  • Select and size electrical components such as circuit breakers, fuses, cables, and wires.

  • Interface with Mechanical Engineers, Project Manager(s) and customers throughout project lifecycle.

  • Select and integrate safety components (safety relays, safety PLCs, etc.).

  • Select and program HMI hardware.

  • Select and program vision system hardware (Cognex, Keyence, Banner, etc.).

  • Select and program stepper / servo motors and controller hardware.

  • Select and program robot hardware.

  • Debug and troubleshoot machines.

  • Assist in concept development and pricing for proposals, supplier evaluations, risk assessments, and customer presentations.

  • Ensure total quality of products and assist with CAPAs and process improvement activities.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be highly proficient in using 2D CAD software. AutoCAD is highly preferred.

  • Must have a strong knowledge of control system design for custom industrial machinery.

  • Must be proficient in programming/control of AB PLCs, Siemens PLCs, HMIs, servo systems, robots, etc.

  • Must be proficient in using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Outlook).

  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Must be hard working, self motivated, and willing to take the initiative on project tasks.

  • Must be willing to travel to customer sites (domestic and international) to support projects as needed.

  • Must be proficient in electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical machine debug.

  • Must be familiar with National Electrical Code (NEC), NFPA 79, ISO 13849, ANSI/RIA R15.05, and GAMP.

    EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

  • Minimum of 5 years experience as an Electrical Engineer is required

  • Experience particularly related to design and development of custom machinery, automation equipment, or other electro mechanical equipment is preferred

  • Bachelors of Science Degree required (BSEE or BSEET)
