Newell Brands Associate Product Engineer in Huntersville, North Carolina

This role requires up to 15% travel to domestic and international manufacturing sites.

The Associate Product Development Engineer will be responsible for new product development (NPD) projects for both new and existing products, while working within a cross-functional team. This position will:

• Lead the Product Engineering efforts for NPD projects from conception through production launch, while following the Newell Brands Product Development Process and meeting expectations for cost, quality, and time.

• Support existing products through cost and quality improvement efforts.

• Work effectively with other disciplines including Marketing, Industrial Design, Manufacturing, Quality, Finance and Supply Chain.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Develop and maintain product cost models throughout the various stages of the projects. Develop and deploy strategies to deliver the desired product features, product quality and reliability at best cost.

• Partner with Industrial Design, Design Engineering and Manufacturing to develop product architecture suited to our manufacturing processes.

• Develop and deploy test program/s to ensure product meets performance targets and is production ready.

• Leads Engineering Change Management process for supported product lines.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree Engineering required.

• 0-2 years of experience in related field.

• Demonstrates Strong understanding of basic Mechanical Engineering, Math, Physics, and Material Science

• Demonstrates strong knowledge of problem-solving techniques and methodologies.

• Demonstrates hands on design/prototyping

• Demonstrates minor CAD modeling experience (Creo preferred).

• Demonstrates knowledge of applicable manufacturing processes and equipment.

• Basic understanding of the materials used in our products.

• Basic understanding of how to identify types of materials used in manufacturing.

• Ability to understand the functional and aesthetic requirements of product design.

• Demonstrates strong interpersonal.

• Demonstrates ability to perform in a team environment.
