BAE Systems Engineering Tools Technical Support Analyst - Systems Enginering in Hudson, New Hampshire

Job Description

BAE Systems has a job opening for an Engineering Tools Technical Support Analyst. As a key member of the Engineering Tools team, the support analyst is responsible for the day-to-day support of the Systems Engineering application environments across BAE Systems. The vast majority of tools are commercial (COTS) or open source. General support activities include developing and executing installation procedures & automation, application testing, troubleshooting, responding to service desk break/fix tickets and service requests, how-to questions and documenting changes to the production environment in accordance to internal and DFARS policies and procedures.

The candidate should be customer service oriented, attentive to detail, strong leadership skills, self-motivated and work well in teams. Flexibility in approach to finding solutions, the ability to understand and act on the customer needs and priorities, and learn new technologies quickly are some of the qualities a successful candidate will have. You will also need to be willing to respond to occasional off-hours outages and take part in subsequent service restoration efforts.

Required skills include a strong knowledge and working experience of Software Engineering Tool environments. Examples include Change/Synergy, Atlassian Suite (JIRA, Bitbucket, Confluence) or Gitlab.

Duties include the following:

  • Design, operation and support of Systems Engineering Tools.

  • Administration and operational support of multiple Systems Engineering application environments across BAE Systems.

  • Troubleshoot performance, availability and overall health of tool environments.

  • Assist in planning and upgrading of applications using Windows and Linux servers and client environments.

  • Create and maintain documentation for engineering application client and server installations and upgrades.

  • Support users in a timely manner using ServiceNow Help Desk ticketing system.

  • Interested candidates should have good communication and organizational skills, and a working experience administering of Systems Engineering Tool environments.

  • Candidate should also exhibit sound judgement, initiative and self-motivation, and be able to complete tasks with minimal supervision.

  • Attention to detail, solid communication and teamwork skills will be required to work effectively.

  • Close collaboration with peers, Engineering and Engineering Tools personnel is essential.

  • The ability to manage time effectively while dealing with a variety of issues in a dynamic environment will be key to the success of this individual.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree and 4 years work experience or equivalent experience

  • Proven experience with complex application installation and upgrades within Client Server architecture on the Microsoft and Redhat operating systems.

  • Understanding of Automation techniques supporting application management e.g. installation, information extraction, or monitoring.

  • Strong understanding of security and regulatory compliance requirements.

  • Ability to multi-task and reprioritize work, as required, to meet dynamic customer service environment.

  • Strong understanding of service lifecycle management.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, including the ability to identify and resolve issues quickly.

  • Ability to work well in a team environment, in either a lead or participant role.

  • General understanding of Engineering disciplines and tools.

  • Must be US Citizen **

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Working experience administering server/client application environments. Examples include IBM DOORS Classic and DOORS next Generation, MagicDraw and Teamwork Cloud.

  • Experience supporting DevOps environments.

  • Experience Scriptingexperience with PowerShell, SQL, Perl, Bash, Python, VBA, C or other scripting languages.

  • Experience working with virtualized environments such as VMware Workstation and VCenter.

  • DFARS compliance

  • ExperienceDeployment/configuration/migration for Apache, IIS, Tomcat, ASP and ASP.net.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $92290 - $156860

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
