Job description

Citeline Custom Solutions, part of the global pharma intelligence solutions provider Norstella, is looking for an exceptional talent to grow and develop our pharma consulting practice serving the pharma and biotech sector. As Principal, Citeline Custom Solutions, China, you will be expected to contribute fully to team objectives by driving consulting revenue growth in the Chinese market. Given the competitiveness of the consulting industry, client satisfaction is key to long term success. As such, commercial awareness, communication skills, rigor in analysis and reporting, flexibility, and cultural sensitivity are key factors for a candidate’s success in this role.

Key duties and responsibilities

As Principal, Citeline Custom Solutions, China your key responsibilities will be:

  • Business development: sell a broad range of evidence driven consulting projects to new and existing clients, in close collaboration with the Citeline China sales team. Identify and understand the needs of the client base, and develop ongoing and in depth relationships with key clients to secure new and repeat consulting business. Work hand in hand with the Citeline China sales team to ensure full alignment with the sales function and drive consulting revenue generation through close collaboration.

  • Project oversight: Citeline Custom Solutions takes pride in avoiding the “pitch and dump” model of consulting; working closely with our global and local consulting delivery resources, you will monitor project progress and overcome challenges that arise to deliver high quality projects within the timelines agreed with clients, in order to drive repeat business.

Key requirements

  • A can do attitude and an entrepreneurial spirit, with a vision to grow our China consulting practice and revenue

  • Tenacity and resilience in the face of challenges

  • Proven experience as part of high performing consulting teams in China or internationally

  • Proven experience in commercial dealings with pharma companies

  • Proven presentation skills to win business from high level corporate leadership

  • Proven ability to oversee the delivery of consulting projects to pharma clients in a manner that maximizes opportunities for repeat business

  • Approximately 10 years or more of relevant pharma related work experience

  • Native level Chinese language skills and full professional proficiency in English

Preferred Qualifications:

  • You will have a background in a pharma company and/or a strategy or consulting firm, in China or internationally

  • Experience in pharma related deal making or advisory services

  • Significant domestic and international exposure
