General Summary:

Qualcomm CDMA Technologies, a.k.a. QCT http://www.qualcomm.com/qct/ , is the industry leader in 4G and 5G communication technology, the largest fabless semiconductor company in the world. QCT is looking for an RF Hardware engineer who will become a member of our core hardware development team, working to incorporate new Qualcomm ICs (RF and baseband) into demonstrator handsets and reference designs. Design activities will include preparation and participation in design reviews, component selection, schematic creation, layout optimization, hardware evaluation and optimization, and data collection. This team also provides support for customer documentation and implementation questions through the customer engineering group

Skills/Experience

• We are seeking an RF Hardware Engineer with experience at several levels, from recent college graduates with academic hardware experience to seasoned industry professionals with extensive wireless handset experience from concept through validation.

• The candidate must have familiarity of wireless standards and a background in the design of wireless products and circuitry including WCDMA, and LTE receivers, transmitters, and synthesizers. Knowledge of GPS Receivers, Bluetooth transceivers, or mmWave systems considered a plus.

• They should have experience in RF layout techniques using multi-layered FR4 pwb material.

• Experience in a Product Development environment is a plus, as is an affinity for lab work.

• Comprehensive knowledge of the set-up and operation of complex RF test equipment required for hardware validation is preferred.

• Must be a self-starter who is capable of working independently.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills are required, including the ability to produce and present technical and project information to engineering management.

The ideal candidate would possess the following:

• MSEE in Engineering, RF Communication Systems, Information Systems, or related Field.

• 1+ years experience with circuit design (e.g., digital, analog, RF).

• 1+ years experience utilizing schematic capture and circuit simulation software.

• 1+ years experience with hardware design and measurement instruments such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, RF tools, etc

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of Hardware Engineering or related work experience.

OR

Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 1+ year of Hardware Engineering or related work experience.

OR

PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field.
