Reuland Electric Manufacturing Engineer in Howell, Michigan
As a Manufacturing Engineer with 7 years of experience, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing our manufacturing processes, improving product quality, and driving cost-efficiency. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement and implement innovative solutions to enhance our production capabilities.
Process Optimization: Continuously evaluate and improve manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
Quality Assurance: Develop and implement quality control measures to ensure products meet or exceed industry standards and meet customer expectations.
Cost Reduction: Identify cost-saving opportunities through process improvements, resource optimization, and supplier collaboration.
New Product Introduction (NPI): Collaborate with product development teams to ensure smooth NPI transitions, including design for manufacturability (DFM) assessments.
Manufacturing Documentation: Create and maintain accurate manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, process flow diagrams, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Continuous Improvement: Lead or participate in Kaizen events, Lean initiatives, and Six Sigma projects to drive continuous improvement throughout the organization.
Supplier Collaboration: Work with suppliers to improve the quality and reliability of sourced components and materials.
Cross-Functional Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments such as R&D, quality assurance, production, and maintenance to achieve organizational goals.
Risk Assessment: Identify potential manufacturing risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
Training: Provide training and guidance to production personnel on new processes and equipment.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with strong background in metal stamping and welding processes
- Experience with die casting is a plus.
- Experience in CNC machine operations or programming is a plus.
- Proficiency in CAD software and manufacturing software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, ERP systems).
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodology.
- Familiarity with quality control tools and techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Project management skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications:
- - Professional certifications in manufacturing or quality (e.g., Certified Manufacturing Engineer, Six Sigma Green Belt). - Experience with automation and robotics in manufacturing processes. - Knowledge of regulatory compliance and safety standards in manufacturing. - Previous experience in the electric motor industry.
