We have a new search with a growing Houston based public accounting firm who is looking to add a Senior Tax Accountant to join the company on a direct hire basis.

The Senior Tax Accountant will be responsible for leading a small team in overseeing a small portfolio of privately held clients and ensure their tax, accounting and advisory needs are met.

The team will be responsible for preparing, filing and advising federal and state tax returns and work with financial and income tax statements, ensuring they comply with tax laws. If you are a deadline driven Tax Accountant with excellent attention to detail and highly organized and want to have the opportunity to take on more responsibility over time, this may be the role for you!

The ideal candidate will have the following experience,

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

• Have or are pursuing the CPA and EA license/certification.

• 3+ years of public accounting experience working on business tax returns.

• Autonomy and ability to manage your own book of business.

• Proficient written and oral communication skills

• In-depth knowledge of IRS rules regarding taxation of S Corps and Partnerships
