Systems Engineer - Houston, TX 9/80 schedule

This position is available from mid - experience level individuals.

Responsibilities:

• Develop recommendations and plans for applying systems engineering principles (e.g., NASA NPR 7123).

• Coordinate technical activities to prevent problems, optimize requirements, and design solutions.

• Manage and develop interfaces, perform integrated analyses, and handle margins.

• Identify technical risks, devise risk mitigation strategies, and assess resource requirements.

• Work independently, set individual and team goals, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, identify key stakeholders, and communicate needs clearly.

• Represent team and stakeholder interests at various boards and with both domestic and international customers.

• Serve as the interface for managing test schedules and test definitions to meet project and program goals.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• US Citizenship or Permanent Resident status required due to the sensitivity of customer-related information.

• Bachelor's degree in engineering is mandatory.

• Minimum of 10 years of recent, relevant work experience.

• Proficiency in requirements development, design trades, risk analysis, and system analysis of space hardware.

• Experience with the certification of human spaceflight hardware.

• Strong attention to detail and exceptional analytical skills.

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience in space flight systems engineering, including the successful delivery of space flight hardware.

• Working knowledge of NASA, JSC, and ISS standard practices and requirements, with emphasis on safety, fault tolerance, and specialized disciplines.

• Familiarity with NASA/JSC documentation databases and SharePoint sites, as well as typical systems engineering products.

• Prior experience with program-level review boards.

• Understanding of ITAR/EAR requirements.

• Proficiency with systems engineering software tools and programs (e.g., Magic Draw, DOORS, or similar)

WORK LOCATION:

• This position is located onsite.

• This position offers a 9/80 schedule, every other Friday off.

• This position may require some travel.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $65.00/hr.
