Summary:

This position is within the Corporate General Accounting Department supporting various Corporate accounting processes. This position reports to the Corporate Accounting Manager.

This individual interacts with his/her peers, Corporate/Finance management, and other functional areas in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This individual will be expected to assume additional responsibilities as needed.

Personal traits such as planning, organizing, oral and written communications skills, and a collaborative personality are needed to perform effectively. Technical abilities include knowledge of corporate accounting topics and understanding GAAP. Demonstrated MS Excel / Word proficiency. Experience with ERP accounting systems such as SAP, Costpoint, and Hyperion Reporting/ EPM FCCS is preferred.

This position reports to the Corporate Accounting Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with ensure month-end close tasks and procedures are executed in a timely manner.

  • Prepare and maintain journal entries and accruals.

  • Perform and review month-end flux analysis presented to management.

  • Monitor and review account reconciliations and analysis.

  • Identify and recommend correcting entries or adjustments as needed

  • Review and roll forward supporting schedules and ensure all relevant support ties to the ledger and financial statements

  • Assist with continuously improving and automating accounting and reporting processes.

  • Communicate clearly and effectively with business units and other corporate department inquiries in a timely manner.

  • Maintain Sarbanes Oxley support of key financial control activities.

  • Perform special projects and ad hoc reporting as needed.

  • Qualifications, Skills, and Behaviors

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.

  • 3-5 years of experience in a general accounting environment preferably with a large corporation or auditing a large corporation.

  • Intermediate to advanced skills using Microsoft Office and other tools with demonstrated use in past work experience.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Collaborative and effective interaction with various levels of company personnel.

  • Detail oriented and organized in work.

  • Capable of multi-tasking, prioritizing, and working independently.

  • SAP and/or Costpoint experience preferred.
