Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required
Extensive knowledge of global geopolitical activity, threat conditions, government structures and associated background/context/implications.
Excellent reading and writing abilities; strong attention to detail and consistent, thorough grammatical knowledge is crucial. Demonstrated experience in a strong writing/editing role is a plus.
Well-developed communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
The ability to think critically and complete assignments, requests and other tasks with little guidance/oversight and with a strong attention to detail.
The ability to learn quickly and the flexibility to complete tasks outside of the immediate Security Intelligence Analyst role.
A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
This role involves interaction with clients, the Travel Guard Travel Assistance Centers, medical and operations teams, account management and other Travel Guard worldwide operations. The Travel Security Operations Center is a 24/7/365 operation, and all analysts work rotating shifts to ensure coverage during nights, weekends and holiday hours.
The job holder will need to be flexible to occasionally work outside of assigned hours (e.g., during operational support activities, conference calls with individuals in other time zones, etc).
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in History, Political Science, International Studies or related field preferred.
Knowledge of intelligence analysis processes and intel writing familiarity preferred.
Ability to speak a language other than English
Job Details
The Senior Security Intelligence Analyst works within Travel Guard's security department in Houston, TX. The individual will be expected to thoroughly understand AIG Travel’s policies and practices within the security department as well as the broader organization. A key part of this role is the ability to articulate the needs of Travel Guard's mission and to ensure communication within the team and across the organization remains open and effective. Finally, the individual will be responsible for ensuring the proper implementation of security processes, assisting with mandated training/retraining.
Candidates should be able to effectively communicate expectations to team members and provide necessary feedback to analysts and leadership. Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary. Additionally, the Senior Security Intelligence Analyst should be willing to take on leadership responsibilities while also performing analyst duties to the highest standard. While no previous leadership experience is required, candidates must be willing to accept constructive feedback and effectively implement leadership training in day-to-day responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
SUPPORT – provision of support to Travel Guard's security department and department leadership.
Work with leadership and team members to address concerns and provide appropriate guidance.
Maintain close contact with security leadership on department performance and when operational cases are ongoing.
Monitor group inbox; ensure all emails and tasks are acknowledged and actioned.
Carry out special projects as tasked by leadership.
Participate in weekend on call rotation as needed.
ENGAGE - Assist with security team training and development.
Regularly report team developments, concerns or other relevant information to Travel Guard's security department leadership.
Interact with security team members and other internal stakeholders to ensure product integrity and education.
Provide oversight for intelligence requests, operations and crisis response, ensuring that team members maintain expected service levels and adhere to all department guidelines.
Brief clients, internal stakeholders and security leadership on Intelligence and Operations cases and processes as necessary.
May involve interaction with legal, marketing and compliance divisions to ensure compliance to Travel Guard standards and policies.
Respond to phone calls to the Travel Guard security department loop line; provide excellent customer service when dealing with clients.
DEVELOP - Enhance team cohesiveness and performance.
Contribute ideas for refinement of existing products or creation of new products to meet demands.
Proactively seek to enhance team engagement.
Communicate with security leadership regarding team development needs or other issues that may warrant further attention.
Work to develop closer partnerships with external stakeholders.
