Insight Global Reservoir Engineering Technician in Houston, Texas

Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a Reservoir Engineering Technician to sit in Downtown Houston 2-3 days per week for a 1 month contract to start. The Reservoir Engineering Technician provides technical and administrative support to reservoir engineers and geoscientists in the analysis, development, and optimization of oil and gas reservoirs. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage and interpret large datasets. This position is integral to ensuring that reservoir engineers have accurate data and analysis to make informed decisions regarding reservoir development and management. Assist in analyzing reservoir performance using historical and real-time data. Maintain and update reservoir databases, including well production, pressure, and injection data. Prepare technical reports, graphs, and presentations to support engineering studies and decision-making. Utilize specialized software (e.g., ARIES, Access DB, SQL, Enverus, IHS, and Spotfire) for data analysis, reserves estimation, and economic evaluations. Coordinate with engineers to track reservoir depletion, production forecasts, and optimization plans. Conduct quality control checks on data to ensure accuracy and consistency. Support reserve reporting processes, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. Collaborate with teams across departments, such as drilling, production, and geosciences, to ensure integrated reservoir management. Manage data for regulatory reporting and maintain compliance with local, state, and federal requirements. Provide administrative support, such as scheduling meetings, managing documentation, and organizing project files.

Skills and Requirements

2+ years of experience in reservoir or production engineering

Proficiency in software specifically ARIES, Access, Spotfire, Excel, and SQL databases

SQL Coding, Access DB administration, and ARIES null
