Are you thinking about advancing your career with one of the most successful logistics organizations worldwide? Here at Kuehne+Nagel, our Houston Team is looking for a new Project Logistics Control Tower Team Leader to join our Project Logistics team.
Your Role
As our Project Control Tower Team Lead, you will be responsible for leading a team of specialists who deliver the operational processes for Projects throughout their life cycle. Your core purpose is to deliver complex projects whilst meeting profitability goals. You will also provide direction and leadership to your two Control Tower specialists, ensuring the delivery of Project Logistics strategies.
Your Responsibilities
Lead your team of two, identifying individual/team strengths and weaknesses, building on them or finding solutions to improve
Pro-active engagement with hubs, chartering desks, transport engineering and suppliers
Utilize our Pricing Centre to provide rates for project requirements
Execute business in line with rates provided
Manage supplier relationships, adhering to the assessment and approval process of our suppliers/vendors
Monitor operational performance of all suppliers, including Health Safety and Environmental compliance, and escalate to Control Tower Management as required
Work with Business Development to ensure smooth onboarding of projects
Your Skills and Experiences
Degree in Supply Chain Management or other related field
3+ years experience in Project Logistics, particularly in Energy/Oil and Gas/Marine, and other special special cargo
2+ years people leadership experience
Demonstrable experience leading cross-functional projects
Confidence with Microsoft Suite, especially Excel, necessary
