JOB SUMMARY:

The Group Lead I is responsible for assisting the Group Lead II with day to day operations of the department to maximize quality output. The Group Lead I must be knowledgeable in all aspects of the department. This position also supports judgements regarding scheduling, work priorities, and material availability & quality; handling employee concerns; applying rational systems to solve practical problems; dealing with a variety of concrete variables with only limited standardization; and interpreting a variety of written, oral, diagrammatic, and/or schedule instructions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.

  • Ability to perform and demonstrate most tasks of the department.

  • Monitor and adjust workflow to meet the requirements of the schedule.

  • Mentor and assist in training new team members.

  • Assist in the implementation of production policies and procedures.

  • Assign work and lead by example through hands-on work.

  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

  • Assist in product inspections and evaluate the quality of the work prior to the product leaving the area.

  • Assist with monthly inventory and improve process accuracy.

  • Ability to interact with customers and customer representatives in a professional manner consistent with company practices.

  • Demonstrate effective interpersonal communication skills.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or its equivalent.

  • Six (6) or more months of experience of leadership in a manufacturing environment.

  • Experience of performing all tasks within the department.

  • Regular attendance is required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associates Degree or Technical Degree

  • Computer literate and experienced with Microsoft Office suite.

  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing principle such as value stream, 5S, Seven General Types of Waste and project planning.
