Principal Technical Professional - Process

Principal Technical Professional - Process, KBR Technical Services, Inc., Houston, TX:

Develop Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams for capital projects in the energy sector. Generate and check calculations including line and equipment hydraulics, relief valve and flare sizing, vessel sizing, heat exchanger sizing using HTRI software, and process design conditions. Cross office coordination with global high value engineering centers. Generate process design simulations utilizing software such as Aspen Plus, HYSYS, ProMax, or ProII. Analyze project, client, or technical supplier data to prepare relevant process engineering calculations and documents. Lead or conduct process studies utilizing process engineering techniques. Generate, develop, or check Process Flow Diagrams, Heat and Material Balances, Process Basis of Design documentation, and process summaries relevant to utilities, battery limit conditions, and piping tie-ins. Communicate technical information to vendors or other engineering disciplines.

Full time employment, Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field and 7 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience.

Must have 7 years of experience in all of the following:

  • Utilization of process simulation software including: Aspen Plus, HYSYS, ProMax, Fathom or Arrow;

  • SmartPlant Piping and Instrumentation Diagram development;

  • Front End Engineering Design (FEED) or Detailed Engineering project experience in Refining, LNG, or Petrochemicals;

  • Utility network analysis and system material and energy balances associated with: cooling water, fuel gas, and steam; and

  • Greenfield and brownfield FEED and Detailed Engineering oil, gas, and chemical capital projects.

Must have 5 years of experience in Reviewing and resolving Process Hazard Analysis action items and managing process changes accordingly.
