Onit PMO Project Manager in Houston, Texas

We’re looking to add an experienced and savvy – yet still-flexible-and-hungry-to-experiment – Project Manager to Onit’s newly formed Project Management Office (PMO). This team will be partnering with teams to focus on internal projects covering a vast array of departments and initiatives related to:

  • Mergers and Acquisitions

  • Strategic Operations

  • Product Management

  • Marketing

  • Human Resources

  • And many more!

    This newly formed PMO department will play a critical role on how we begin to scale our company to the next level. You will have direct engagement with C level leadership as well as engagement with all leaders across the organization. You will partner with staff in the United States along with staff based in international locations (Europe and Asia).

    In this role you’ll have three main responsibilities:

  • Helping to build out and shape our new PMO department. This will include building project management templates, processes, documentation, and much more.

  • Acting as the lead Project Manager on high-risk, high-impact internal projects. You’ll be the day-to-day owner of a basket of projects, and it’ll be your job to perform all of the standard project management duties to keep the trains running on time.

  • Assessing the health and progress of other people’s projects, using our PMO’s standard “project check-in” methodology.


  • You have a bachelor’s degree or higher.

  • You have 5+ years’ experience in professional project management.

  • You have a recognized project management certification (PMP or equivalent).

  • You have extraordinary relationship building and emotional intelligence skills, including the capacity to predict and manage behavior, build and leverage cross-functional partnerships, and leverage influential leadership. This is where you really shine! You understand that successful project management is a lot more about managing people and relationships than it is about project plans and tools.

  • You have very strong written and verbal communication skills. You take great care when it comes to picking your words, in emails or instant messages.

  • You have the ability to remain flexible and adapt to changing priorities with promptness, efficiency, and ease. You aren’t flustered by grey area or ambiguity – in fact, you thrive in these situations.

  • You have the ability to learn, understand, and apply new technologies.

  • If you have Software as a Service (SaaS) experience, that’s a plus.

  • If you have experience with legal operations processes and supporting technologies, that’s another plus.
