Description

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Network Engineer in the construction/contractor industry. This role is based in Houston, Texas, and focuses on managing and maintaining our enterprise network. The Network Engineer will ensure the optimal performance of our WAN circuits and VPN tunnels, manage networking equipment, and assist with the setup and management of servers. Responsibilities:

• Respond to, investigate, diagnose, and resolve complex technical network issues to ensure the stability and availability of the enterprise network.

• Monitor and manage all WAN circuits and VPN tunnels, ensuring optimal performance and connectivity.

• Set up, configure, secure, maintain, and monitor various enterprise networking equipment including firewalls, switches, and wireless network systems.

• Manage and maintain secure remote access solutions using modern ZTNA solutions.

• Perform assessments of networking equipment, configuration, and performance, and provide improvement and optimization recommendations.

• Create and maintain up-to-date and accurate network inventory, architecture documentation, and device configuration backups.

• Manage network equipment, software support, and subscription service renewals to support budgeting requirements.

• Assist in the setup, configuration, and ongoing management and support of Windows and Linux servers.

• Participate in project meetings, provide project status updates, manage assigned tasks independently, ensuring timely completion and meeting deadlines.

• Adapt and take on other assignments or duties as directed by management.

Requirements

• Must possess a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

• Strong knowledge and practical experience with Meraki, Cisco, FirePower, Firewall, and ASA Firewall.

• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve network issues effectively.

• Excellent understanding of networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS).

• Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model.

• Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools.

• Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively with different levels in an organization.

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to perform under pressure.

• Certification (e.g., CCNP, CCDP) is a plus.

• Must be legally eligible to work in the specified location.
