MATHEMATICAL RESEARCH INC NASA Senior Site Reliability Engineer in HOUSTON, Texas

MRI Technologies is looking for an experienced senior-level Site Reliability Engineer. As our Site Reliability Engineer, your mission will be to ensure that all of our systems and services run reliably and support our users' needs. You will be in charge of monitoring system health, as well as creating automation tooling to automate routine tasks.

The MRI developer team is a group of passionate developers, working closely together to identify problems at NASA. We are passionate about open source software and take a very pragmatic approach when evaluating the tooling, languages, and frameworks used on a given project. This position is 100% remote, working with a fantastic team of developers from across the country working with multiple NASA centers. In this team you get the best of both worlds, the start-up feel of a group of passionate developers and the excitement of working for NASA.

Technologies / Experience:

Candidate should have experience with the following items listed below, with the desire to grow and learn new technologies:

  • K8
  • Git
  • Terraform
  • Kustomize
  • AWS/GCP
  • Gitlab CI/CD
  • Keycloak (or equivalent Identity Broker Solution)

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or 10+ relevant work experience required
  • 7+ years professional software development experience
  • Experience working in a continuous software delivery CI/CD environment with other teammates
  • Experience with containers and Kubernetes based CI/CD environments.
  • Ability to work from home effectively
  • Work closely with Agile Project Manager to define clear requirements and project timelines
  • Experience with deploying cloud-native solutions on GCP (preferred) and/or AWS

Preferences:

  • Experience in legacy on-premise to hybrid/multi-cloud migrations.
  • Active contributor in one or more open source communities.
  • Ability to script in one programming language: Go-lang (perferable)

Due to the nature of the NASA work, candidate must be a U.S. Citizen and successfully complete a U.S. government background investigation.
