MD Anderson Cancer Center Medical Assistant - Radiation Therapeutic Nursing in Houston, Texas

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least two years of medical assistant experience. Medical Assistant certification is a plus.
Shift: Monday - Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm ; can be variable
KEY FUNCTIONS
Ability to assist with multiple clinic operational activities, while in collaboration with various members of the multidisciplinary team.
Establish and maintain positive cooperative working relationships.
Demonstrate effective communication skills, flexibility, problem solving skills, resourcefulness, and self-motivation.
Assists with patient examinations, treatments, and procedures.
Prepares / stocks rooms and escorts patients to rooms.
Obtains vital signs and prepares patients for physician's care.
Documents in the medical record patient care entries.
Provides transportation of patients for discharge or transfer to other areas in the hospital. Must be able to position, lift, and move patients as needed.
Cleans, stores, prepares, and coordinates maintenance of medical equipment.
Maintains inventories of medical supplies.
Processes all required paperwork.
Other duties as assigned.
Education
Required: High school diploma/equivalent.
Preferred: Graduate of an approved Medical Assistant program or US Military medical services training program
Experience
Required: One year of medical assistant experience. With preferred degree, no experience is required.
