Job Title: Machine Operator (2nd Shift)

Job Description

A large forge and fabricator of aerospace/airplane products is seeking immediate openings for machine operating roles. The role involves operating band saws, possibly press machines, and other machinery. Responsibilities include measuring parts with a tape measure, forming metal, maintaining a clean work area, and assisting in other areas as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate band saws and potentially press machines.

• Measure parts accurately using a tape measure.

• Form metal components as per specifications.

• Maintain a clean and organized work area.

• Assist in other areas of the production process as needed.

Essential Skills

• 5+ years of machine operating experience in a manufacturing environment.

• Experience in the metal manufacturing or forging industry.

• Proficiency with Jib Crane or Overhead Crane.

• Ability to read a tape measure accurately.

• Experience with CNC machine operation.

• Knowledge of stretch operator, forge operator, press machine, press brake, plasma, blueprint reading, and saw operation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Good job tenure.

• Experience as a furnace operator.

• Extensive measuring experience.

• Strong math skills.

Work Environment

The job is in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment, which can be hot in the summer. The exterior is old, but the shop is clean, organized, and well-labeled. The dress code includes steel-toed boots, jeans, and a work shirt with appropriate PPE. The 2nd shift runs Monday-Friday from 1:00pm to 9:30pm. Training will be conducted on the day shift for approximately 2 weeks before transitioning to the assigned shift.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of HOUSTON, Texas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
