A Day in the Life:

As a Liquid Pipeline Regulatory Analyst, you'll empower teams across the company by collecting, analyzing, and communicating key data for FERC filings. You'll leverage software to efficiently manage tariffs and ensure adherence to the Interstate Commerce Act. Your day will be a dynamic blend of data analysis, regulatory compliance, and collaboration. You'll proactively assess the impact of new FERC pronouncements, developing and implementing effective compliance strategies. Throughout the day, you'll partner with diverse teams to prepare tariff changes, gather data for FERC filings, and evaluate new business opportunities. Your ability to clearly communicate complex regulations will be vital to your success!

The Regulatory Analyst is responsible for gathering, analyzing and coordinating company data for preparation and compilation of reports and filings to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). The ability to translate and communicate obscure regulatory requirements to internal, cross-discipline groups and work in a team environment are keys to success in this role!

Responsibilities/Expectations:

  • Understanding of the Interstate Commerce Act (ICA), FERC Accounts, and Page 700’s

  • Prepares and files tariff changes to meet the business needs of company partners

  • Manages and updates electronic tariffs using specialized software to support the FERC tariff filing process

  • Assists in the development of responses to FERC and customer data requests

  • Collaborates with company partners to gather and review data for FERC certificate filings and reports and ensure they are consistent with business strategies and practices

  • Supports commercial and business development teams to evaluate new opportunities/services

  • Provides input into legal pleadings

  • Monitors FERC regulations, requirements, and industry trends pertaining to filings and compliance

  • Maintains current knowledge of the regulatory process and requirements

  • Analyzes new FERC pronouncements, identifies potential impact on the company, and develops and implements effective compliance strategies

  • Partners with commercial and business development teams to prepare and file tariff changes that support business goals and new business opportunities

  • Mentors others

  • Other duties as assigned

Education/Years of Experience:

Regulatory Analyst II

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering or related field and a minimum of six (6) months of experience in the energy or related industry

    Regulatory Analyst III

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering or related field and a minimum of two (2) years of experience in the energy industry

  • Preferred: A minimum of four (4) years of experience in ICA/interstate pipeline work

    Regulatory Analyst Sr

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering or related field and a minimum of four (4) years ICA/interstate pipeline work experience

  • Preferred: Direct experience in ICA/interstate regulatory area

Other Requirements:

  • Knowledge of FERC process and requirements

  • Preferred: Experience interpreting and modifying tariff language and commercial contracts

  • Preferred: Strong understanding of the Interstate Commerce Act (ICA), FERC accounts, and Page 700 requirements

  • Preferred: Experience interpreting and modifying tariff language and commercial contracts with a minimum of 4 year's experience with ICA and Liquid Pipelines.
