We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Junior Settlement Accountant in Houston, Texas. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for managing all settlement activities related to trade reconciliation, approval, and payment to ensure they occur in a timely and accurate manner. This role is located Downtown and offers a hybrid schedule (3in/2out).

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all settlement activities related to trade reconciliation, approval, and payment.

• Manage settlements for multiple ISOs including ERCOT, ISONE, MISO, NYISO, PJM, SPP, as well as Utilities and various Counterpart settlements.

• Handle and resolve disputes with both internal and external parties in a timely manner.

• Collaborate with Traders, Middle Office, Accounting, and Management on settlement-related inquiries.

• Ensure correct banking instructions are applied to payments and validate and enter new SSI into Fenergo in accordance with the approved process.

• Take responsibility for creating and submitting the settlement packets for payment and forecast.

• Communicate with counterparts to confirm daily cash receipts and follow up on cash fails.

• Undertake special projects as requested by management.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in a similar role

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field

• Strong knowledge of financial and accounting procedures

• Experience using financial software

• Advanced MS Excel skills

• Knowledge of financial regulations

• Excellent analytical and numerical skills

• Sharp time management skills

• Strong ethics, with an ability to manage confidential data.
