HARRIS COUNTY IT Test Analyst - Senior in Houston, Texas

Position Description Under general direction, carries out procedures to ensure that all information systems products and services meet organization standards and end-user requirements. * Performs and leads tests of software to ensure proper operation and freedom from defects. * May create test data for applications. * Documents and works to resolve all complex problems. * Reports progress on problem resolution to management. * Devises improvements to current procedures and develops models of possible future configurations. * Acts as information resource about assigned areas to technical writers and other Quality Assurance Analysts. Performs complex workflow analysis and recommends quality improvements. * Responsible for developing and executing formal test plans to ensure the delivery of quality software applications. * Involved in test planning, writing test cases/scripts, test case automation and test execution. * Defines and tracks quality assurance metrics such as defects, defect counts, test results and test status. * Collects and analyzes data for software process evaluation and improvements and integrates them into business processes to address the needs of the business. * Delivers quality process training to technical staff and acts as an internal quality consultant to advise or influence business or technical partners. * Performs quality audits across the various IT functions to ensure quality standards, procedures and methodologies are being followed. * Creates test data for applications. * Regularly provides guidance to less experienced QA analysts. * Performs other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: * Must possess excellent interpersonal and written/oral communication skills. * Ability to interact with staff at all levels. Strong knowledge of personal computers and various software, specifically Microsoft Office. Physical Requirements: * Must be able to lift at least 20 lbs. and/or move boxes and equipment as needed. * Subject to kneeling, crouching, handling, climbing, walking, sitting, twisting, and reaching are needed to perform the essential functions. General Information *LOCATION: * 406 Caroline St. Houston TX, 77002 *HOURS: * * Monday - Friday, 7-3pm , 8-4pm, 9-5pm * May be required to work nights, weekends as needed.
