Summary

The IT Services Supervisor is responsible for managing and overseeing Baker’s IT Services across the business units focused on IT workplace and mobility services. The primary focus is ensuring seamless IT operations, managing regional / business unit support analyst and enhancing user experience through effective IT service delivery. S/he engages with all IT functions to help establish new initiatives, service improvements and optimizes service delivery to enhance operational effectiveness within the regions / business units. This role has responsibility for the daily management of IT workplace services, mobility solutions, and related projects. S/he acts as point of escalations for the support analysts and the business partners. The IT Services Supervisor ensures that co-workers and the company receive the appropriate IT support. This includes managing all procedures related to the identification, prioritization, and resolution of IT issues, including monitoring, tracking, and coordination of IT functions

Roles and Responsibilities

The IT Services Supervisor will perform the following duties in a safe, productive, and effective manner:

Service Delivery:

  • Service Oversight: Ensures high-quality delivery of workplace services, including IT support, equipment provisioning, and workspace management

  • Mobility Management: Oversees mobile device management, including procurement, configuration, security, and support of mobile devices

  • Incident Management: Manages and resolves service incidents and requests, ensuring timely and effective solutions

  • Service Improvement: Continuously seeks and implements opportunities for service improvements and efficiencies

Asset and Configuration Management:

  • Asset Management: Oversees the management of IT assets, ensuring accurate tracking, lifecycle management, and optimal utilization

  • Configuration Management: Maintains a configuration management database (CMDB) to track and manage IT assets and configurations

  • Inventory Control: Implements strict inventory control processes to ensure the organization has the necessary IT resources required by the business, not more, not less

  • Vendor Management: Manages relationships with vendors and service providers, ensuring they meet service level agreements and deliver quality services

  • Accountable for Regional Communication Services: Manages internet, voice, wireless, and conferencing services

  • Job Site Support: Responsible for supporting the service deliveries at job sites

Regional / Business Unit Oversight:

  • Field Technician Coordination: Oversees regional / business units support analysts, ensuring they are effectively supporting local office needs and adhering to company standards

  • Standardization: Develops and enforces standardized procedures and best practices for regional support activities

  • Travel Management: Coordinates and manages travel for support analysts as needed to support regional / business unit offices

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborates with key stakeholders, including executives, department heads, and IT teams, to understand and address their needs

  • Business Partner Collaboration: Partners with business partners (BPs) to understand and capture demands for IT services, ensuring alignment with business objectives

  • Supervises, trains, evaluates, and develops direct reports

  • Addresses complaints appropriately

  • Provides guidance, direction, coaching, and support to direct reports to maximize individual and overall department performance.

  • Responsible for holding timely performance appraisals and progress reviews

  • Assists direct reports in developing short and long-term goals that align with department and Company mission and strategy

  • Ensures direct reports receive appropriate training that aligns with career development plans. Training may be remedial, ‘maintenance’, or geared to promotion

  • Takes appropriate action to develop direct reports including, but not limited to, preparing and monitoring career development plans, promotions, demotions, lateral moves, corrective action, and progressive discipline

  • Recommends that direct reports receive timely and appropriate compensation

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or a related field with at least 4 years’ experience in IT services roles or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Proven track record in managing IT workplace services and mobility solutions

  • Experience managing teams

  • Proficient with IT workplace and mobility tools and technologies

  • Experience with IT service management and compliance tools

  • Familiarity with incident response tools and techniques

  • Ability to explain complex IT issues in simple terms to non-technical users

  • Ability to use basic math, geometry and algebra

  • Ability to develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT initiatives

  • Excellent listening skills

  • Ability to demonstrate a positive team attitude and a desire to always help

  • Ability to motivate and direct staff members; able to mentor junior analysts

  • Ability to handle multiple priorities under the pressures of a heavy workload and/or time constraints

  • Keen attention to detail with superior analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities
