We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of IT Advisor Industrial Control within our ICS SCADA Applications group based in Houston, Texas.

A successful candidate will ultimately be responsible for:

Perform as a member of the IT ICS SCADA Applications support team following OXY standards and guidelines.

Develop and maintain strong customer relationships with Field Ops, OT, and IT teams.

Understand business priorities, challenges, and provide solutions to customer problems within Oxy’s SCADA operations utilizing tools such as Iconics, Cygnet, Software ToolBox OPC, and other SCADA related applications.

Develop a good understanding of the IT organization, the customer focused support model, and develop strong relationships with relevant IT Teams.

Partner with the business to roll out new technologies, applications, and tools that will positively improve the plant operations.

Troubleshoot problem areas in a timely manner ensuring clear and effective communication throughout the cycle of support, providing end-user assistance where required.

Log and track all incidents and service requests into company provided tools

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field.
• 15 years of demonstrated experience in SCADA applications and process control supporting gas plants, oilfields, or similar heavy industrial operations.
• Extensive, hands-on SCADA application experience such as Iconics, Cygnet, and OPC Server configuration/support.
• Must possess strong team leadership, coaching and mentoring skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Project management experience with demonstrated ability to work independently and to lead other team members.
• Possess excellent communication skills (written and verbal).  Ability to work well with people and assess systems needs. Must be able to communicate professionally with people both inside & outside the organization, which may include business stakeholders, vendors, and business partners.
• Ability to work independently, multi-task, follow processes, policies (including environmental & safety), and act as a contributing member of a team environment.
• Must be able to plan and prioritize daily tasks with excellent organizational skills including accurate records keeping and proper documentation.
• Valid driver’s license with no restrictions that would prohibit driving a company vehicle.
• Must be willing to participate in a scheduled callout rotation which includes periodically answering callouts on nights & weekends.
