We currently have an opportunity for a PRN Intake (Admissions) Registrar – Night Shift

The Registrar is responsible for providing maintaining safety in the Intake area, completing registration forms, entering data in the patient management system, managing admission workflow, and bed board.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Actively supports the mission, philosophy, and goals of the hospital.

  • Observes patients for changes that require immediate intervention and take appropriate action; continually assess behaviors that indicate changes in the patient behavior; adheres to guidelines for patients on special status i.e., suicide, sexual, assaultive behaviors, or AWOL precautions.

  • Maintains a safe, orderly, and therapeutic physical environment for patients and families.

  • Understands and implements appropriate action to avoid power struggles with patients.

  • Works as an effective team member to establish an environment which minimizes aggressive behaviors utilizing crisis management skills.

  • Escorts voluntary and involuntary patients to units in a safe manner.

  • Patient registration and data entry

  • Ensure accuracy of intake information entered in patient information system.

  • Answer inquiry call in a professional manner obtaining all required information from caller.

  • Conduct searches and inventory of patient belongings.

  • File, complete tracking logs and distribute copies of admission paperwork to the appropriate unit or department.

  • Manage department flow including bed board.

  • Maintain professional demeanor in dress, attitude, and hospital mission and philosophy.

  • Interact with patients and staff in professional manner, promotes teamwork. Adheres to UHS Service Excellence standards.

  • Attend mandatory staff meetings.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Requirements:

  • Minimum high school diploma or GED. Some college preferred.

  • One (1) year ER patient registration experience required; behavioral health experience preferred.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Computer skills, accurate data entry skills.

  • Ability to work twelve (12) hour overnight shifts, including some weekends.
