Microsoft Corporation Industry Advisor - Consumer Goods in Houston, Texas

Microsoft’s Industry Team focuses on empowering customers on their AI Transformation. This team is responsible for understanding the Consumer Goods industry and our customers’ business and priorities, develop relationships with senior leaders by generating interest into Microsoft solutions accelerating their AI Transformation and driving revenue growth for Microsoft.

As an Industry Advisor in Consumer Goods, you will have the opportunity to drive industry-focused sales for Microsoft. This role is responsible for originating sales and driving industry-led conversations with customers. Accountabilities include developing and winning market-making opportunities that deliver customer value and enabling transformational customer outcomes.

As an Industry Advisor you will be the industry subject matter expert in AI Transformation, engaging with customer executives, leaders and decision makers to identify, generate and nurture new business opportunities aligned to their strategic priorities. You will articulate and position strategic business value and long-term positive results of using Microsoft's products, partners and solutions, collaborating across roles and organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage industry depth to accelerate AI transformation with Microsoft resulting in net-new cloud, data and AI growth.

  • Originate new opportunities across assigned customers, incubate new opportunities for Microsoft across Azure, Modern Work, Business Applications and Security repeatable Go To Market (GTM) industry solutions.

  • Build new business C-Suite relationships to position multi-horizon incremental opportunities and growth.

  • Generate thought leadership to successfully identify, position, and advance new scalable, repeatable industry solutions.

  • Lead and orchestrate sales activities and customer engagement, partnering with account teams to help customers realize value, build trust and exceed expectations as their strategic partner.

  • Lead orchestration with account teams to realize value by consistently exceeding customers' expectations.

  • Accelerate outcomes through vast understanding of the partner landscape, both from a solution perspective as well as system integrators.

  • As the industry subject matter expert in AI transformation, engage with internal and external stakeholders on account planning and partner business planning (e.g., Business Leaders, Global Systems Integrator (GSI), Independent Software Vendors (ISV)) and reviews industry plans, lending credibility from an industry perspective.

  • Accelerate customer’s digital agenda through innovative Artificial Intelligence (AI) industry use cases, exploration, envisioning and thought leadership

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business or related field AND 7+ years customer-facing experience in consumer goods, retail, management consulting, consultative selling, technology or industry-relevant equivalent management or technical work experience

  • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business or related field AND 5+ years customer-facing experience in consumer goods, retail, management consulting, consultative selling, technology or industry-relevant equivalent management or technical work experience

  • OR equivalent experience.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business or related field AND 15+ years customer-facing experience in a combination of consumer goods and retail industry and management consulting at the Director, Principal and Associate Partner level or equivalent (strategy preferred with the likes of Accenture, PwC, EY, McKinsey, KPMG or the equivalent), consultative selling of transformative technology.

  • OR Master's Degree in Business or related field AND 12+ customer-facing experience in a combination of consumer Good and Retail industry and management consulting at the Director, Principal or Associate Partner level or equivalent (strategy preferred with the likes of Accenture, PwC, EY, McKinsey, KPMG or the equivalent), consultative selling of transformative technology

  • OR equivalent experience.

Industry Advisory IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $130,000 - $217,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $168,600 - $237,500 per year.
