Industrial Air Flow Dynamics, Inc. Field Service Manager in Houston, Texas

Job Description:

Industrial Air Flow Dynamics Inc. is seeking a Field Service Manager to join our team. The candidate will report directly to their Director of Field Services and remotely manage a team of 70 - 100 employees who are completing multiple projects at a time. The Field Service Manager will work with and through all IAFD management, to ensure compliance with safety and environmental procedures and to assist in the achievement of profitability/productivity requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage project cost and schedule with the highest regard for employee safety and product quality

  • Assign field personnel and coordinate with travel for mobilization needs

  • Attend client meetings to discuss field personnel opportunities; identify client needs and evaluate alternative business solutions

  • Present and explain proposals, reports, or findings to clients

  • Perform administrative functions, such as reviewing or writing reports, approving expenditures, enforcing rules, or purchasing materials or services

  • Identify opportunities for improvement and make constructive suggestions for change; manage the process of innovative change effectively

  • Effective project management: apply company methodology, enforce standards, minimize exposure to risk, and ensure completion and accurate storage of finished projects

  • Communicate relevant project information to appropriate parties, resolve and/or escalate issues in a timely fashion

  • Provide professional guidance to assist coworkers in career and leadership development; inspire coworkers to attain goals and pursue excellence

  • Participate in development opportunities including training

  • Team management: utilize team members to their fullest potential, encourage collaboration, mitigate conflict, foster positive communication, acknowledgment and appreciation

  • Study specifications to plan procedures for construction based on starting and completion times and staffing requirements for each phase of construction

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Implement company safety policies

  • Maintain communication with field personnel

  • Manage personnel and subcontractors

  • Confer with supervisory personnel and labor representatives to resolve complaints and grievances within the workforce

  • Confer with supervisory and engineering personnel inspectors and suppliers of tools and materials to resolve construction problems and improve construction methods

  • Implement policies, standards, and procedures for work

  • Direct workers concerned with major maintenance or reconditioning projects for existing installations

  • Conduct superintendent meetings

  • Coordinate with Safety Manager and Foreman to manage accidents/incidents

  • Communicate and coordinate subcontractors to operate at the highest level of performance

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Prior project management experience of over 5 years

  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to write reports and business correspondence.

  • Ability to perform labor and material takeoffs

  • Efficient and well-organized

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

  • Ability to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully

  • Valid drivers license

WORK AVAILABILITY:

  • Travel 60% during busy outage seasons based on projects that need support

  • Must be available and willing to work such weekends and holidays as the employer determines are necessary or desirable to meet its business needs

  • Must maintain cell phone to be available should a safety emergency occur
