MRC Global Document Control Associate in Houston, Texas

MRC Global serves the oil and gas industry across the upstream, midstream and downstream sectors as well as the chemical and gas distribution market sectors worldwide.

Job Purpose:

Responsible for maintaining vendor documentation for assigned projects.

Responsibilities:

Individual must be able to perform the essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Work as part of a team ensuring timely delivery of proper documentation and information;

  • Assemble complex technical data books and documentation for customers as required;

  • Create daily, weekly and quarterly reports as needed;

  • Troubleshoot issues or discrepancies;

  • Ensure consistency in record management procedure and policies, which include logging, tracking, retention, retrieval, destruction and disaster recovery;

  • Perform Audits as determined necessary;

  • Identify the areas of concern and make necessary improvements to improve the efficiency of internal processes and procedures to improve MRC standards

  • Ensure timely information flow between internal and external clients;

  • Represent department on specific projects or assignments; 

  • Carry out other duties within the scope, spirit, and purpose of the job;

  • Take reasonable care for the safety and health of yourself and others; report workplace hazards, injuries, or illness immediately.

Qualifications:

Any combination of requirements, which provide knowledge and abilities necessary to perform essential duties and responsibilities, will be considered.

  • Undergraduate Degree or High school diploma/GED (General Education Degree) with 3 years document control experience;

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize job duties and handle multiple tasks;

  • Ability to establish good rapport with branch employees, department personnel, and other corporate employees using written correspondence, proper phone etiquette, professional interpersonal skills and other effective interpersonal skills;

  • Experience with Microsoft Office products including Excel, Access and Word is a must;

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel- Intermediate to Advanced is preferred;

  • A demonstrated exceptionally high level of attention to detail is required.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Must have the ability to provide documentation verifying legal work status;

  • Ability to read and speak the English language proficiently in order to communicate with others, understand and interpret safety instructions, and to respond to inquiries;

  • Ability to understand and comply with MRC guidelines and expectations, to include Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest guidelines.
