Robert Half Director Clinical Research Finance in Houston, Texas

Description

We are in search of a Director of Clinical Research Finance to lead our team based in Houston, Texas. The role involves managing financial aspects of clinical research studies and overseeing the department's operations, ensuring quality, productivity, and efficiency. This role also requires ensuring compliance with ethical and legal business practices and various regulations.

Responsibilities include:

• Directing the creation of processes and controls to ensure financial close outs of clinical research studies are timely and accurate.

• Overseeing the activities of the department staff to accomplish strategic and operational objectives.

• Ensuring employee engagement and maintaining adequate staffing levels.

• Developing and complying with the department budget.

• Making staffing decisions such as hiring and terminating employment.

• Coaching and counseling employees on work-related performance.

• Developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure a safe and effective work environment.

• Ensuring training, monitoring, and operations initiatives are implemented for compliance with ethical and legal business practices and accreditation/regulatory/government regulations.

• Managing the annual budget and budget processes.

• Overseeing clinical trial management.

Requirements • Must hold a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role or related finance position

• Demonstrated proficiency in annual budget development and management

• Proven experience with budget processes, including planning, tracking, and reporting

• Experience in clinical trial management is a plus

• Must have a strong understanding of financial regulations and legislation

• Excellent leadership skills and the ability to make strategic decisions

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively liaise with other departments

• Proven ability to manage, guide, and lead employees to ensure appropriate financial processes are being used

• A solid understanding of financial statistics and accounting principles

• Working knowledge of all statutory legislation and regulations

• Professional qualification such as CFA/CPA or similar will be considered a plus

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
