Communications Specialist

Description

The Communications Specialist is primarily responsible for managing and optimizing the university's CRM (Technolutions Slate) for student communication. This role focuses on developing targeted communication campaigns, maintaining data integrity, and ensuring messages reach the intended audience effectively. The coordinator will also collaborate across departments to support enrollment goals, using CRM analytics to adapt and improve engagement strategies.

Duties:

  • Executes daily management of the CRM to ensure efficient communication flows. Results in a streamlined, effective communication process.

  • Crafts targeted campaigns for various student segments, leading to increased engagement and prospective student nurturing.

  • Works with academic and administrative teams to unify communication efforts, resulting in a cohesive institutional voice.

  • Evaluates CRM analytics to inform strategies, yielding enhanced decision-making and campaign performance.

  • Oversees data accuracy within the CRM, ensuring reliable and consistent communication outreach.

  • Utilizes HTML/CSS to create responsive templates, leading to professional and accessible email communications.

  • Offers CRM training to staff, fostering a knowledgeable team capable of effective CRM use.

  • Plans and communicates CRM-based events, enhancing student engagement and participation rates. Manages the import and export of data, ensuring a seamless flow of information for campaigns. Performs related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Instructional Technology, Computer Science, Communications or a related field.

  2. Experience in managing CRM systems and/or executing digital communication campaigns.

  3. Familiarity with the latest trends and techniques in digital marketing to enhance student engagement.

  4. Understanding of data protection and privacy laws relevant to student information handling.

  5. Skilled at creating, executing, and measuring the effectiveness of email marketing campaigns.

  6. Ability to design and troubleshoot responsive email templates for a variety of devices.

  7. Competence in analyzing campaign data to inform strategy adjustments and improvements.

  8. Strong written and verbal communication skills for crafting clear and persuasive messages.

  9. Ability to work effectively with various university departments to align communication efforts.

  10. Aptitude for identifying challenges within the CRM or campaign performance and developing effective solutions.

  11. Capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining deadlines and project scopes effectively.

Desired:

Higher education or agency experience preferred.

Prior work with email marketing platforms and a track record of developing successful content strategies.

Experience with Technolutions Slate.
