We are currently seeking a skilled Machine Operator to join our team on a temporary-to-hire basis. The successful candidate will primarily operate CNC lathes, focusing on setting up machines for various jobs, adjusting parameters such as feed rate and speed, and ensuring accurate production according to specifications. While programming skills are not required, experience with CNC lathe setups, including changing inserts and making minor program adjustments, is essential. Additionally, proficiency in using measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers is necessary to maintain precision and quality throughout the manufacturing process.

salary: $23 - $28 per hour

shift: Second

work hours: 4 PM - 2 AM

education: High School

Responsibilities

• Measure dimensions of finished work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision

measuring instruments, templates, and fixtures.

• Calculate dimensions or tolerances, using instruments such as micrometers or Vernier calipers.

• Remove and replace dull cutting tools.

• Operate grinding equipment.

• Work in a team environment in order to improve processes via a High Performance Team / Team

Improvement Board.

• Mount, install, align, and secure tools, attachments, fixtures, and work pieces on machines, using hand

tools and precision measuring instruments.

• Listen to machines during operation to detect sounds such as those made by dull cutting tools or

excessive vibration and adjust machines to compensate for problems.

• Adjust machine feed and speed, change cutting tools, or adjust machine controls when automatic

programming is faulty or if machines malfunction.

• Stop machines to remove finished work pieces or to change tooling, setup, or work piece placement,

according to required machining sequences.

• Lift work pieces to machines manually or with hoists or cranes.

• Modify cutting programs to account for problems encountered during operation and relay changes to

programmer to save modified programs.
