Position : CMT Lab Manager

Location : Houston, TX

We are seeking a CMT Lab Manager to join our Houston, TX team! Come join us!

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Manage CMT Lab Operation and provide QC of both field and lab data.

• Manage data using company provided online data management systems.

• Manage distribution of data to clients including upload to Site Manager.

• Solve problems/issues/concerns/complaints pertaining to CMT functions with technicians and clients.

• Perform 1A asphalt production inspection as needed to meet client needs.

• Manage QSM and certifications for all field and lab employees.

• Prepares samples, assigns testing, and performs laboratory testing on soils, aggregate, and concrete material.

• In various project management software's enters, retrieves, performs QC on laboratory and field data

• Maintains office files/records/logs for all samples and testing equipment

• Operates a variety of laboratory machines required for the above-mentioned Technical Requirements.

• Manage up to 15 staff performing field and laboratory functions to meet the CMT operational needs.

• Supports Central Dispatch and CMT PM to meet the client's needs.

• Past experience and ability to provide maintenance and calibrate in-house equipment for both TxDOT and ASTM standards in accordance with a site specific QSM.

• Maintain A2LA, AAHSTO, and TxDOT Accreditations.

• Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

• High School Graduate

• Minimum of 4 years’ experience as a CMT lab technician and 4 years as Lab Manager

• Communicate effectively

• Follow verbal and written instructions

• Maintaining effective working relationships with others

• Preparing and maintaining confidential and sensitive records, files and reports such as accreditation and calibrations.

• Ability to QC CMT data for soils, aggregate, stabilized materials, and concrete.

• Move up to 50lbs daily

• The use of company computers and applicable programs, applications and systems

• Working knowledge and experience with TxDOT and ASTM field and laboratory testing methods for soil, aggregate, concrete, subgrades, and embankments.

• Ability to manage sample results from multiple clients and meeting contractual reporting timelines.

• Ability to manage and train staff as needed to fulfill contractual laboratory testing.

• Experience in maintaining A2LA, AASHTO and TxDOT Accreditations.

Other Miscellaneous Qualities:

• Ability to travel 10% of the time

• Ability to obtain missing certification within 6 months of hire

• Ability to use and navigate SiteManager is a plus.
