AON Claims Professional III- Builder's Risk in Houston, Texas
Aon is looking for a Builder’s Risk Claims Professional III in Houston, Tx
Position Overview:
This position is responsible for advocating on behalf of Aon’s clients to maximize recoveries under their Builder’s risk policy placements for Aon’s clients (Contractor’s and Owners). The span of responsibility will be for all Builder’s Risk policies placed primarily by Aon’s National Construction & Infrastructure practice and construction placements made by the Aon Property Practice.
This role includes working with clients, Aon teams, insurers, carrier and general adjusters, experts, and coverage counsel on all aspects of the Builder’s Risk claims process from first notice of loss through final disposition and providing meaningful intervention on the client’s behalf as needed.
This position reports to the AGRC Construction and Infrastructure Practice National Claims Leader
Role Responsibilities:
Develop claims strategy and steward clients through necessary process steps in order to facilitate resolution of their Builders Risk Claims
Working with the placement brokerage leaders to implement changes and enhancements to policy wordings that will address the specific needs of clients as future claims are incurred.
Maximize recoveries for Aon clients regarding their Builder’s Risk Claims.
General familiarity with other lines of coverage that can be leveraged to ensure that all sources of indemnity are realized.
Understanding of global placements. This includes the London market and how claims are funded under subscription and layered placements.
Facilitate the claims process from first notice of loss through the timely settlement and payment of the claim.
Understanding of Time Element claims to include Delay in Start-Up and Contractor Soft Costs. This will include working with the Aon forensic claims team.
Advocate for prompt and effective handling of claims by adjusters and insurer claims professionals, coverage counsel in order to maximize performance standards.
Deliver quality service to clients, Aon account teams, insurers and adjusters
Engage in and actively support client relationship building and new client development, production efforts where appropriate.
Advocate for collection and payment of claims
As appropriate, analyze loss runs, prepare claims information for renewals and year-end and/or project claim data
Keep current on state regulations and emerging issues, industry activity and trends.
Utilize Aon’s Claims Resolution Platform as appropriate.
Prepare claims manuals and procedural guidance to clients
Travel potentially 15-25% of time.
Flexibility to work remotely.
Assist in special projects as needed and participate in internal staff meetings as appropriate
Desired Qualifications:
10 years Property and Builder’s Risk and Delay in Opening, Sub-contractor default insurance claims experience required.
Ability to efficiently interact with all levels of internal and external business partners; Excellent written, verbal and social skills.
Ability to reliably work independently and handle all aspects of Builder’s Risk Claims
Expertise in the management and timely resolution of insurance claims.
Proficiency in PC office products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook are required.
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree in business or a related field.

The salary range for this position intended for U.S. applicants is $125,000 to $300,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.
