We believe that each member of our team contributes directly to Smartbridge’s growth and success, and we take pride and celebrate with our employees as they continue to grow and succeed with their career paths as well.

As a Business Consultant at Smartbridge, you will work on technology consulting projects to help clients implement business strategies by delivering solutions that involve people, process and technology. In this position, you may work on implementing business process improvements, enterprise systems including financial, supply chain, and human resource systems, as well as business intelligence and analytics systems. You may have multiple roles on a project including gathering business requirements, creating functional designs, implementing system configurations, and functional testing. To succeed in this role, you should have a natural analytical way of thinking and be able to explain difficult concepts to non-technical users.

  • Gathering and analyzing business requirements: You will work closely with stakeholders, such as clients, managers, and subject matter experts, to identify and document business needs and objectives.

  • Evaluating business processes, anticipating requirements, uncovering areas for improvement, and developing and implementing solutions

  • Performing data analysis: You will examine and interpret data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can drive business decision-making. This may involve using tools like spreadsheets, databases, or specialized software.

  • Developing and documenting business processes: You will create detailed process maps, workflow diagrams, and use cases to depict current and future state processes, ensuring clarity and understanding among stakeholders.

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams: You will work with different teams, such as IT, marketing, operations, and finance, to gather input, align objectives, and ensure effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Defining and documenting business requirements: You will translate business needs into clear, concise, and measurable requirements that serve as the basis for solution development. This includes creating functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

  • Facilitating meetings and workshops: You will organize and lead meetings, workshops, and interviews to elicit requirements, brainstorm solutions, and resolve conflicts or issues among stakeholders.

  • Conducting impact assessments: You will assess the potential effects and implications of proposed changes or solutions on business processes, systems, and stakeholders, and communicate the findings to relevant parties.

  • Supporting solution development and testing: You will collaborate with developers, quality assurance teams, and end users to ensure that the final solution meets the defined requirements and aligns with business objectives.

  • Monitoring project progress: You will track project milestones, monitor key performance indicators, and report on progress to stakeholders, identifying risks, issues, and deviations from the planned objectives.

  • Providing recommendations and insights: Based on your analysis and understanding of business processes and data, you will offer recommendations and insights to improve efficiency, productivity, and decision-making within the organization.

  • Continuous improvement: You will actively seek feedback, evaluate lessons learned, and identify opportunities for process improvement or optimization, contributing to the overall growth and success of the organization.

  • Defining user personas: You will develop user personas or profiles that represent different user groups or target audiences. These personas capture characteristics, goals, and behaviors of typical users and serve as a reference point during the design process.

  • Creating user journey maps: You will map out the end-to-end user experience by visualizing the different touchpoints and interactions users have with a product or service. This helps identify pain points, opportunities, and areas for improvement.

  • Developing wireframes and prototypes: You will create low-fidelity wireframes and interactive prototypes that illustrate the layout, structure, and functionality of digital interfaces. These prototypes serve as a basis for user testing, feedback collection, and iterative design.

  • Applying user-centered design principles: You will advocate for user-centered design principles throughout the design process, ensuring that user needs and goals are prioritized and reflected in the final product.

  • Conducting heuristic evaluations: You will assess the user interface against established usability principles and best practices. This evaluation helps identify usability issues, inconsistencies, and areas where the design can be improved.

  • Providing UI style guides and design specifications: You will create UI style guides that outline visual and interaction design guidelines, ensuring consistency and coherence across different screens and components. You will also provide detailed design specifications for development teams.

  • Conducting competitor analysis: You will research and analyze the user experience and interface design of competing products or services. This analysis helps identify industry trends, benchmark against competitors, and uncover opportunities for differentiation.

  • Participate in and lead various components of projects using the agile/scrum methodologies
