BlueSprig Billing Specialist in Houston, Texas
BlueSprig Pediatrics provides treatment based on the basic principles or Applied Behavior Analysis and has a specific focus on early intensive behavioral intervention. We are experts in providing individualized solutions and are dedicated to transitioning children out of specialized services into traditional schools and social environments.
We are looking to expand our Billing Specialist team with a top performer who is knowledgeable in the healthcare revenue cycle as it relates to preparing and sending claims to insurance entities. You will be responsible for accurate and timely preparation and submission of all clean claims and resolving rejected claim issues through our clearinghouse, Waystar.
As a Billing Specialist you will receive training and support and work closely with others in our Revenue Cycle department. In this role you will:
Prepare and submit claims to insurance carriers either electronically, through portals or by mail
Reviews claims to ensure billing accuracy and compliance with payor requirements, including but not limited to coding, authorizations and demographics
Conducts pre-billing reviews and interfaces with facilities to ensure accuracy and completeness of claim submission
Manage claim submissions from initial billing through correction of billing rejections and errors.
Identify billing inconsistency trends and provide feedback to centers for process improvements
We are looking for people who with:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to analyze and resolve problems, as well as the ability to identify payor billing discrepancies
Solid computer skills and the ability to learn new software quickly, and proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel
Minimum one year medical billing/insurance claims processing experience, accounts receivable experience is a plus
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
