Lower 48 Overview

The Lower 48 represents the largest ConocoPhillips business segment today based on production, with high-quality positions in the U.S. unconventionals. These durable, low cost of supply and low GHG-intensity assets have significant upside potential.

The company’s large Lower 48 position represents scalable inventory with low cost of supply and low GHG emissions intensity with the potential to generate significant returns over many years of future development. Current major focus areas for the Lower 48 include the Delaware and Midland Basins, part of the world-class Permian Basin, as well as the Eagle Ford and Bakken.

Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Anaplan Developer to join the L48 Finance Systems & Analytics team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable Anaplan models that support business planning and decision-making processes. The Anaplan Developer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to transform complex business requirements into efficient, user-friendly solutions within the Anaplan platform.

Position Overview

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Enhance existing models to deliver additional planning functionality

  • Optimize performance over large datasets comprised of many planning scenarios

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical designs

  • Provide insights and recommendations to improve processes through effective modeling

  • Conduct thorough testing of enhancements, ensuring data integrity and accuracy

  • Document model designs, business processes and key workflows for stakeholders

  • Provide end-user training and ongoing support to ensure effective adoption

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Anaplan models and integrations

  • Work closely with Finance and IT to integrate Anaplan with other business systems

  • Constantly focus on delivering value to stakeholders and enhancing the end user experience

  • Administer a strong governance environment

Basic/Required:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Data Science, Information Technology, Engineering, related field, or foreign equivalent

  • 3 or more years of experience as an Anaplan Developer, Solution Architect, Delivery Manager or similar role

  • Intermediate level of proficiency in data analysis, planning and forecasting processes

Preferred:

  • Anaplan Model Builder certification

  • 3 or more years of E&P (upstream oil and gas) experience

  • 3 or more years of experience with economic modeling and Net Present Value calculations

  • 3 or more years of experience with financial modeling, including P&L statements, DD&A, etc

  • 1 or more years of experience in requirements gathering and mockup creation or management of a Center of Excellence

  • Advanced level of proficiency with Excel spreadsheet modeling skills, i.e. macros, pivot tables, formulas, charts, PowerQuery, Python in Excel, etc

  • Intermediate level of knowledge with Anaplan Agile methodology

  • Intermediate level of knowledge with Anaplan’s connector to Power BI

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Utilization of large language models (LLM) or large reasoning models (LRM) to enhance developer productivity

  • Ability to identify, suggest and implement changes and spot trends to identify problems in operations, financial information, and asset performance

  • Ability to function independently, identifying and communicating when additional resources or support are required

  • Results oriented individual who can prioritize and execute multiple tasks under tight deadlines

  • Continuous learner who is comfortable with rapidly changing technology

  • Takes ownership of actions and follows through to completion

  • Delivers positive results through realistic planning to accomplish goals
