Description Robert Half is searching through applicants for a skilled Accounts Payable (A/P) Clerk that thrives in a fast-paced environment and looking for a long-term contract / temporary to hire position at a well-established company in the Energy/Natural Resources industry. The Accounts Payable Clerk will process expense reports, resolve A/P issues, update and reconcile sub-ledger to G/L, process checks, and match, batch, and code invoices. This position requires people who have excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of accounting and its principles, hands on, and the ability to think on your feet. Located in Houston, Texas, the Accounts Payable Clerk will be a long-term contract / temporary to hire position.

What you get to do every single day

• Execute additional tasks as needed

• Organize, register, scan, and file invoices, checks, and other documents

• Assist with internal and external audits as needed

• Assist the AP/Finance Department with administrative tasks

• Validate, record and send checks, including expediting special handling

• Open, sort, and distribute daily department mail

• Accurately execute daily processes and controls in a timely manner while ensuring company policies are followed

• Implement full-cycle A/P

• Provide customer service to internal business partners Requirements - Strong communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills, especially with both technical and financial backgrounds

• AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Business or similar preferred

• Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases

• Be detailed, flexible, and organized

• Prior experience in an A/P role preferred

• Accounts Payable (AP) experience
