We are offering an opportunity for a skilled Accounting Manager/Supervisor to join our team based in Houston, TX. This role involves overseeing various financial and accounting functions, ensuring transactions are recorded in accordance with GAAP and our company's policies and procedures. You will also be responsible for managing the monthly/quarterly close process, providing accurate and timely financial statements and reports to management, and serving as a point of contact for Operations for accounting/financial issues and questions.

Responsibilities:

• Prioritize, supervise, and review all activities performed by staff, ensuring all deadlines are met

• Manage the monthly and quarterly close process, ensuring all entries are accurate and processed in a timely manner

• Provide accurate and timely financial statements and reports to management

• Review analysis/reconciliations of income statement and balance sheet accounts, and investigate deviations from forecasts or historical trends

• Serve as a point of contact for Operations for accounting/financial issues and questions

• Assist with Financial Planning & Analysis team to prepare forecast/budget and review and challenge operational assumptions as they form the basis for variance analysis

• Coordinate interim and year-end reporting and audit requirements and work with external auditors, if required

• Drive continuous improvement in the group and implement efficient and effective procedures, ensuring all processes are correctly documented

• Develop staff via coaching and mentoring, while also recognizing employee accomplishments and providing timely constructive feedback.

Requirements

• Applicant must have a minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role such as Accounting Manager or Supervisor

• Mastery of US GAAP (United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) is required

• The role necessitates strong analytical skills to interpret financial data and costs

• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, is essential

• The candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or CPA is preferred

• Demonstrated experience in managing and leading an accounting team is required

• Strong understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices is necessary

• Excellent communication and leadership skills are a must

• The candidate should have the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

• Proven experience in preparing financial statements and tax returns is required.
