Job Description Summary
The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering invites applications for three faculty positions at the assistant professor level to begin in the fall semester of 2024. Higher ranks may also be considered for exceptional candidates having outstanding track records in research and teaching. The department seeks forward-looking individuals who will develop vigorous research programs, and who are skilled at translating new and exciting discoveries into effective graduate and undergraduate teaching in classrooms. Applications are being accepted for the following focus areas:
Power electronics including electric vehicle applications, wide bandgap devices, or energy conversion applications;
Microelectronics including VLSI circuits, advanced circuits, RF circuits and systems, modern semiconductor devices, or microelectronic sensors and sensor systems;
Biomedical applications including bioinstruments, bioelectronics, healthcare devices and systems, bioimaging, medical diagnostics, or bionanotechnology, and
Other cutting-edge areas in electrical, computer, and robotics engineering.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned)
Develop strong research and graduate educational programs
Translate new and exciting discoveries into effective undergraduate and graduate teaching activities both face-to-face and online
Develop externally funded research programs
Advise graduate student research at the MS and PhD level and involve undergraduates in research
Participation in department and university committees
Integrate safety practices into daily activities
Commit to learning about continuous improvement strategies and applying them to everyday work, as well as University and ABET Assessment activities
Ability to learn and leverage new teaching technologies
Other duties as assigned
Required Education, Certifications, Licensures (minimum requirements)
An earned Ph.D. degree in electrical or computer engineering or a closely related discipline at the time of appointment.
Required Experience (minimum requirements)
*A sustained record of research and scholarship in a field that is relevant to electrical and computer engineering
Demonstrated experience successfully working with diverse individuals
Desirable Education and/or Experience
Experience teaching courses in electrical engineering, computer engineering, robotic engineering
Mentoring undergraduate and/or graduate students
Demonstrated success in, or potential future contributions to, wo
