Job Description Summary

The discipline that executes a robust process of design, creation, and optimization of systems, consisting of identification and quantification of system requirements, creation of alternate system design concepts, performance of design trade studies, selection and implementation of the best designs and verification that the design is properly integrated and executed. Process that proceeds from concept to production to operation.

Impacts departmental operations and responsible for planning/execution. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Some judgment may be required but this is typically with guidance.

We are looking for an Ultrasound TEE Probes Lead Engineer Installed Base - Lifecycle Management to join our team in Horten, Norway. As a Lead Engineer, you will drive and assist program managers and the business team to ensure that Installed Base projects (typically improvement projects to address field or manufacturing issues) are structured to be integrated into the product/program. You will work in an interdisciplinary team and integrate products in collaboration with horizontal partners that meet technical requirements. Your tasks include:

  • Leading various Installed Base, Compliance/Stewardship projects that often affect multiple sites and require a person to "drive" the project and establish a strategy that integrates functions into a common plan and works out details with technical engineering teams, service, regulatory, quality, and supply chain leaders.

  • Listening and analysing customer complaints, drilling into the why things are happening to understand underlying root causes.

  • Supporting and improving manufacturing and field issues.

  • Analytical and clear thinking to implement improvements.

  • Anticipating integration issues and developing appropriate actions to enable the team to make progress.

  • Explaining information and developing options and alternatives to bring team members to a consensus and be able to sketch a path forward.

To be successful in this role, you should bring the following qualifications:

  • Ability to think strategically and logically so that programs are understood and planned, often requiring exchanges with various leaders from horizontal partners and functions and often require pivots to make it work.

  • Organizational talent and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. The projects are often relatively logical, with complexity lying in the details and differences in how the organization and functions handle different things.

  • You can work with data. Most projects require pulling data together and operating various tools such as our PLM system for data Myworkshop, Service Suites, Trackwise Digital for our CAPA actions.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to adapt to different communication styles of teams and bridge cultural and language barriers.

  • Think global, act local. Your mindset allows you to collaborate successful with horizontal teams and you are not afraid to pull on global capabilities to make progress on your local topics.

  • You are a driving force, but work with the team, are quick to arrange for coordination, pull people together, define an action plan based on information from others, formalize next steps, track progress, and ensure that everyone understands the situation and what steps to take next.
