Job Description

The VP of Clinical Customer Service and Innovation will serve as a strong partner to Business Unit Manager as well as senior business leaders to identify, assess, and develop plans to drive organic and inorganic growth opportunities, organizational scalability, and process expertise. The VP will provide strategic thought leadership and objective decision support analysis for senior executive management on a broad range of factors affecting the Company. The VP will work collaboratively across the customer and business portfolio, will interact directly with the most senior leaders of the company on a regular basis, and will report to the business unit manager. Leading the planning, implementation, and execution of strategic initiatives across Clinical Trial Supplies is critical.

Essential Job Duties:

 

 

  • Lead and perform competitive and market analysis connecting key strategic projects with implications and possible outcomes for the company. Present findings and recommendations to senior leaders
  • Identify, define, and articulate industry, market, and emerging trends and how they may affect the business.
  • Lead corporate strategic planning process and manage specific corporate strategy initiatives across the company.
  • Define and track key company-wide strategic performance and portfolio metrics.
  • Lead and support benchmarking our performance in relation to industry.
  • Deliver data-driven insights to support actionable strategy, prioritization of capital allocation and resources, and stakeholder communications.
  • Represent ECL as principal organizational and trade SME both internally and in client meetings to include commercial meetings, bid defenses, capabilities presentations, and other customer meetings as required.
  • Lead interactions and operational management of key portfolio clients in defining and outlining standards of operations for the account while coordinating implementation of sustainable processes by working with the Operational Excellence team.
  • Lead and support both short- and long-term special projects driving organic growth and scalability of ECL. To include things such as building expansion, system implementation, material and process evaluation, and capital implementation.
  • Lead ECL integration with sister organizations, aligning internal processes with required cross division integrations.
  • Analyze proposed projects, quantify impact as projected on business and prepare business case.
  • Design internal programs to drive expansion of SME resources and process experts within the business.
  • Lead and direct cross functional teams for strategic ini iatives implementation
  • Identify all necessary resources of special projects.
  • Manage process enhancements and various special projects to execute solutions to attain key performance improvement or reduce risk.
  • Support budget and long-term planning development by aligning corporate strategy with realistic cost and implementation expectations.
  • Serve as cross functional DPO, supporting data protection initiatives as required.
  • Evaluate and plan integration of M&A targets as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Experience and Qualifications

 

  • Minimum 15 years working in Clinical Trials, with at least 10 years Central Laboratory experience.
  • Prior managerial experience required, divisional or executive level leadership experience preferred.
  • Highly motivated, combining exceptional strategic thinking, superior executive communication skills, project management, managerial experience, good business judgment and quantitative skills.
  • Experience deep diving into areas before there is clear operational ownership and determines if there are opportunities for the broader portfolio.
  • Excellent presentation/communication skills, with the ability to distil complex analyses into executive-level insights and recommendations.
  • Strong project management skills, able to work independently, and willing to challenge constructively to influence change and consensus.
  • Team player capable of leading, participating in, and building collaborative, diverse, inclusive, high-performance teams.
  • Proven customer research and financial/quantitative analysis skills
  • Willing to be onsite a minimum of 2 days per week.
  • Willing to travel domestically and internationally as required.
  • Commits to perform work and to behave according to the agreements established in SOPs, within the overall quality system and, where applicable, the specific applicable quality system.
  • Ability to set and follow priorities, working accurately under deadlines.

Education

 

  • Bachelor's degree in life sciences or equivalent work experience preferred.
